HandyDan service rates and terms:

Minimum charge:   $95 which includes your estimate and/or first hour

I recommend making a list of what needs to be done around the house. 

Hourly rates apply for jobs that last 1 day or less.
Projects longer than one day get a lower rate with a proposal

Standard hourly day rates:

Monday - Friday 9am – 5pm:          $75 per hour (after the first hour)
(Additional time billed in half hour increments of $37.50)

Half-day charge:                              $285 (4 hour discount rate)

Full-day charge:                               $570 (8 hour discount rate)

Saturday 10 am - 4 p.m.:                   $95 per hour

Emergency or after hours call -      $95 fee plus minimum charge

Please note: All jobs over $200.00 materials will require payment of materials
up front to cover materials costs. Full day labor charges require 50% deposit

 Paying for HandyDan services:
All payments are due at the completion of each job or task.
We accept personal checks and cash.
Deposits are required in some cases.

Payments are made to:                Big City Builders Services, Inc.

By the job pricing:
There are some tasks priced by the job. Examples: Spreading landscape rock is $65 per ton;
spreading mulch is $65 per cu. yd.  Any complex task will also be priced by the job.
Jobs that take more than 1 day will receive a proposal
for labor and materials and will qualify for discount rates.

Your proposal includes: Labor and material, tools and equipment necessary,
material pick-up and delivery.

Your proposal will always be explained to you before the job is started. 
Payment terms for bigger jobs are available but a deposit is required.

Free Estimates (for HandyDan services only):
All estimates given over the phone are free
If you request a visit to the home and/or require a written estimate for the job,
there is a small fee of $50.00 which is taken off your bill if I get the job.

There is a $150.00 fee for estimates for insurance claims/companies, restoration companies,
banks/mortgages, governmental, etc. because they usually require a more detailed
proposal and it must be written specifically (non-refundable).

Discounts:
Senior citizens, 65 and older, will receive a 10% discount off all standard rate labor.
Large or long term projects will receive a proposal / estimate at a discounted rate.

Subject to change without notice. You may not combine any other discount or promotion offered.

Job Materials:
For larger or complex jobs I will provide you with a shopping list if you choose to purchase items yourself.
There are 2 options for obtaining most materials needed for your job.

1. You can select and purchase items, and deliver them into your home.
2. I can purchase and deliver items into your home.

Some items or materials I may have “in stock”. If you would like me to purchase
and deliver your materials, a small procurement fee will be added to your bill.
(I do not charge an hourly rate when picking up materials, just the procurement fee)

The "Procurement Fee" covers time and gas while shopping for and delivering your supplies and materials.

Material Procurement Fees:
Bag full of items (min. charge) =                  $25 + the actual cost of materials
Cart full of items =                                         $50 + the actual cost of materials
Truck load of items =                                    $75 + the actual cost of materials

Landfill / Disposal Rates (if necessary):
Smaller amounts of junk/debris (33 gallon plastic bags) will be charged at $10 per bag. If you have a really large amount of junk or construction debris, and need to rent a roll off container, I can load it for you at the standard rate.

If I have to haul it off: junk, unused material, old parts, etc. to the landfill you will be charged for this service.
I may refuse to pickup and discard some items.
There is a $95.00 minimum disposal charge by HandyDan if your job produces a lot of garbage and,
a full pick-up truck load is required (includes up to 1 hour of loading and unloading labor).

There is a 2-ton minimum charge of $150 landfill disposal fee by Waste Management
for any single trip to their landfill (Waste Management facility).

Access to your home:
Please allow access to your home that is required to carry out your task.
Use of water and electricity may also be needed as well.

Signing off on the job:
When your job or task is complete, your signature is required on the bottom of your invoice.
This shows that you are completely satisfied with the job that was completed.
Same said signature also shows that you fully authorized all work described on the invoice.

Bank Charges:
There is a $45.00 service charge (fee) on any and all returned checks, for any reason, no exceptions.

Cancellations:
If you want to cancel your appointment with HandyDan you must call at least 48 hours
before your scheduled appointment.
